The Sponsorship and Experiential division of Dialogue141, Ogilvy Group UK’s multi-disciplinary brand activation agency, has created a new JAVA mobile application for the British & Irish Lions Tour to South Africa this summer. Combining Sponsorship and Experiential’s knowledge of sports marketing with mobile activation, they have created a “must have” application for sport fans.

Full of all the essential player and match information, the app also has links to all the latest tour-related news and views, including a RSS feed direct from the British & Irish Lions’ official website. And for those lucky enough to be heading to The Veldt, it also provides guides to the seven cities involved in the tour, including ideas on where to go and what to do whilst there.

Created with preferred Ogilvy Group UK mobile supplier XS2 The World, this execution shows how it is possible to enhance consumer engagement with branded content in an environmentally friendly and cost efficient way. And with mobile technology allowing direct, real-time interaction with the target audience, the client can collect useful data on consumer behaviour.

Best of all, the app is FREE and, in keeping with the spirit of fair play, is available to all fans in the UK, Ireland and South Africa.

The project was headed up by Richard Ivey, head of business development, and Jonathan McCallum, business director.
