Mike Welsford

Mike has spent the past 26 years with Ogilvy and was managing director of the highly regarded Johannesburg office for 20 of these years. During his time in South Africa, Mike worked on an extensive list of local and global brands with clients including IBM, Unilever, Glaxo SmithKline, Audi, and Nestle. In 1994 he added responsibility for the Africa region, building a regional network of eighteen offices stretching from Cairo to Harare. In 1999 he moved to Dublin as chairman of the Ogilvy businesses in that market, where he reorganised and re-energised the Ogilvy brand. After four years he moved to London as the global leader on Nestle. More recently he has taken on the role of Head of Ogilvy’s Global Brand Council in EMEA.

Mike loves sport but, sadly, plays a very average game of golf.
