Steve started on the client side in sales and marketing roles at Smith and Nephew and then what became Carlsberg Tetley. He then took the decision to move to the agency side, joining a sales promotion start-up called USP, of which he was a minority shareholder before it was sold to Osprey Communications PLC. He became MD of the newly formed CSP, leaving in 1998 to start up Tarantula. Tarantula merged with 141worldwide in May 2005.

He is married to Julie and has three teenage sons. The family lives in Surrey.
