“Print and Prosper” with Kodak

25 April 2009

OgilvyOne London has helped develop and launch “Print and Prosper”, a new campaign for Kodak which champions the ink savings consumers can make by switching to Kodak printers.

Originally conceived by an agency in the US, OgilvyOne London has developed and adapted the work, spread across TV, press and the internet, to launch an integrated campaign suitable for the UK market.

The ads demonstrate how much can be saved by switching from competitor’s printers and expensive ink to Kodak’s cheaper and more efficient alternatives. A website, www.printandprosper.co.uk, provides an online hub for the campaign where visitors can work out exactly how much they would save by using the “savings calculator”.

The campaign also featured a 24 hour homepage takeover of MSN on Thursday 23rd April, which helped drive 46,000 visitors to the website during that period.

The Grand Vizier of DM guest edits “Contact”

2 April 2009

Ogilvy Group UK’s multi-talented vice-chairman Rory Sutherland (pictured above) added another string to his bow this month when he guest edited Contact, the Royal Mail’s award-winning customer magazine.

Over the years, Contact (a high quality quarterly) has become a must-read for anyone involved in the direct marketing industry.

Rory’s contribution as editor of the Spring ’09 edition includes an editorial, an interview and a “Sutherland says…” feature that comments on various articles.

Throughout the magazine Rory also invites readers to explore the personal nature of direct mail through both innovative and expressive means, starting with a detachable postcard on the front cover complete with stickers to accessorise.

There’s also a chat between Rory and Adam Crozier, CEO of Royal Mail, in which the pair discuss the effectiveness of direct mail and the creation of the Mail Media Centre as a home for successful and inspirational DM work. In recognition of his unique contribution to DM, Contact ennobled Rory with the (unofficial) title of Grand Vizier of Direct Marketing.
