Chief Executive, Ogilvy Group Ireland

JP is Chief Executive of the Ogilvy Group in Ireland, he is also Head of Country for WPP.

He has 25 years’ experience in advertising, having started his career in the despatch department of DDB Dublin, graduating to Account Management. He moved to New York in 1997, where he worked for Edelman PR, and Young & Rubicam. He returned to Dublin in 1991 where he worked with McConnells Advertising, he then became Managing Director of a 360 agency called Dimension. He joined Ogilvy in 1999, to run Advertising and launch the Ogilvy brand in Ireland. He became Group Chief Executive in 2003.

JP is also a board member of the Smurfit Business School (where he also holds an MBA) and the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital. He was also Chairman of the Marketing Institute of Ireland in 2004. He was a founding member of the Students European Rugby Championship, and manager of the Irish Universities Rugby Union from 1993 to 2002. JP has three children; Jack (15), Katie (13) and Harry (11).
